Heater problems

i have no clue what is going on with it but after i had my system flushed of the rust water that was in my Jetta and replaced the crack pipe plastic and the thermostat. now my heat only gets luke warm while driving and kinda cold at idle im thinking its the water pump but not sure what do you guys think it is? i mean my beetle pumps out more heat

ive been told by several people that its my thermostat for my problem,the next thing they recommended was the water pump so i think you are right on the money with that.

The flush probably stirred up some rust and plugged your heater core. You need to try and backflush the heater core to push the rust back out of it.

yeah thats a possibility that some rust coulda gotten stirred up cuz when the water was in it the heat blew real hot all times. but when its been running for a while and i turn it off an start it again something makes a squeal sound.

Replace the water pump anyways, its a 15 minute job.

Well I wouldn't at 15 minutes on that water pump, but mike and I got mine done in under an hour.

Doesn't he have a VR6? It took 15 mins to do mine...
1. Remove air box
2. Remove front and rear motor mount bolts
3. Jack up engine
4. Remove belt
5. Remove water pump..
6. Profit?

disclaimer: water pump R&R will only take 15 minutes if one uses JB Weld and a 30mm socket to pleasure one's self.

it takes a little longer than 15 with an obd2 engine cause the secondary air pump is down there in the way but you can do it in under a hour but i would try the revers flush and check the coolent and make shur it is mixed with water right for how cold it is and if you need a hand you have my number and no were my shop is
