Well around December of '07 I picked this up from a local company we sub from here in beautiful Bozeman, MT.

1993 Ford F150 4X4 XLT 5.0 EFI 5-Speed Standard Cab Long Box
Picked up this great truck for only $1400 with about 174k on it.
Rack alone sells for $600 new.
Anyways, I put quite a bit of miles on it this year and finally the motor really started eating oil and running terrible.
I just pulled the motor out last week.

Then I took it to my Dad so he could tear it all down.
He mic' ed the cam at around 392 thousandths.
The #5 push rod was bent.
Cam bearings were actually worn.
He also discovered that two of the cross drilled holes in the crank were completely clogged with a red plastic-like material?

As for the condition of the truck the interior is really nice, probably a 3 out of 5.
Dash is cracked, seats are nice but some trim is cracked.

Exterior is pretty rough. All trim except the PS door XLT Chrome strip is missing. I pulled it off because it was peeling off real bad.
PS of the bed has been wrecked into something hard. Between the door and the wheel well is the worst part.
Cab and front end have been re-sprayed. Roof is peeling really bad.

I'm doing a stock rebuild for now. Just going to fab up a snorkel and stuff.

I'll post up the future plans later!

The motor was out of the machine shop on Monday and it's all assembled and ready to go back in for the most part, I just have to go grab it from my Dad.

Today I picked up:
Headers and a dual exhaust kit.

So far the rebuild parts list is:

12 quarts of oil
2 oil filters
Air filter
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Water pump
Upper, lower, and bypass radiator hoses
Thermostat and gasket

I'm gonna have to make my own snorkel down the road as no one sells one for my truck.

I go scuba diving in it every time it rains here! Because Ford put the damn snorkel right under the hood so I get my air filter soaked in water.

Here's some photos from tonight!

After some hard work with a combo of these:

The final product looked like this.

Pretty much haha. We'll have a cleaner grille for this year!

And Spence, a little iron supplement never hurt anyone!

I thought the wheel turned out great. I'm gonna do one a night until they're all done.

Here's the bay before I started cleaning it today.

And here are my injectors.
They just came back from being cleaned and flow tested by WitchHunter Performance. WitchHunter Performance - Injector Cleaning & Flow Testing Services
For $18/each they clean and flow, replace filters, replace pintle caps, and o-rings. WELL worth it.

And here's the data sheet.

And here's the pile of parts that is accumulating.

And then today the Summit Santa came early!

True dual exhaust.
Headers and the rest will be here tomorrow.

Oh and here's a better before and after, a bit more clear.
