Thanks to Grant for the spare CP.
I had one go out on Sat. and had to use it (I should have bought those spares from you JR!
) Strange how a CEL suddenly appears after you let your wife drive it to Wal-Mart
I asked her if she noticed if it had a little more zip and her response was "uh YEAH
...oh and BTW the CEL came on and it was shaking a little bit...so I took it easy on the way home" I just laughed because it's the third time she's driven it, and I knew what the problem was. So I'll pick a couple of new CP's up today.
Also a bit of weirdness...I got back in and tried to start it and it just cranked over but wouldn't start. So I Vag'd it and got:
17072/P0688/001672 - ECM Power Relay Load Circuit: (J271): Open Circuit
Which tells me a fuse or something power/connection related. I did some research and found that fuse #29 for engine management and ECU power was the culprit. I have no idea why it did this, but was glad it was an easy fix. So FYI to anyone else with this code to check fuse #29 - it's a yellow 20 amp.
