alternator/generator issue

Hi,
The new battery is not charging in my bus, totally drained it coming home from Hylite last week so I jumped it and ran it over to Auto Stop who said I needed some diagnosis time and a new alternator. Now I can believe I might need that alternator but I really want to be sure before I shell out more money to these guys. One thing I noticed is the second battery (RV marine battery on left side) has shorted out against the wheel well. I know I added a kit so the alternator would charge both batteries when driving a few years ago but could this be the problem not allowing the alternator to charge. Looking forward to seeing you all this week-end and might have to ride with Dubber instead of cruising in the bus.

Randy

Hey Randy, you might need a new alternator if you just put a new battery in.
Run by any auto parts store like O'Reillys and have them test your alt. You can even leave it in your bus.
If you do in fact need a new one just buy it and we can put it in late tomorrow night here at my house.

Thanks for the offer!!! I checked around and there are no alternators in town, I will have one next week. I can still bring the bus Friday or Sunday but I think I will ride with Grant Saturday, certainly would be easier to keep up with you guys in his GTI.

It's not about keeping up!
It's about driving our dubs together man!
See you Friday.
