Well there are a couple of different places that people have installed their thermocouple:

#1

#2 (on the top where it says GARRETT)

#3

Seems like the biggest thing is the manifold's going to need to be removed to do this. From what I've read it's really difficult to remove the oil feed line without breaking it! Oooh fun!
I haven't decided between #1 or #2, so I'll post some pictures after I decide and get it installed.

Here's the origianal post/poll: Where to tap for EGT?

well pict #2 is the only one i can see...i would always run the sensor post turbo because i have seen the whole tip come off of the thermocoupler and go into the exhaust wheel of those really cheap turbos  enjoy.
(i run mine 2-5 inches downstream of the turbine wheel) figure the turbo eats about 150-200 degrees F .

I have always run them post turbo also, this alo helps you monitor the turbo temps, so that way if you loose oil pressure, and the turbo heats up, you will be able to see the turbo temps skyrocket, as well as the oil pressure drop. I have heard of and seen it done both ways, however....

Great article on EGTs: "Why EGT is Important" - by Banks Power

Based on what I've read, I'm going to stick with pre-turbo for accuracy.
