What is your favorite brand of wax? I was looking at trying one of these newer ones; Turtle Wax ICE, Mothers FX Syn Wax or Meguair's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0. Any advice?

Stay the hell away from all 3 of those.
Go to your local body shop supply, spend the money, and get a silicone wax.
The last thing you want on your fresh paint job is a shitty wax like all the above.
Try 3M Waxes, anything they don't sell at a parts store or Wal-Mart is what you want my friend.
Good luck!

I like Meguires High Tech yellow. Its pretty easy to use, holds up well, and has carnuba.
I tried NXT, hated it. It didn't last for even one wash. Haven't tried the others you mentioned.

Zymol is good stuff, I have used that for years. I have also used Meguiar's gold class with good results. JayRyan also has opinions on some good waxes I know also, I can't remember what he uses, but IIRC he mail orders if from some detail supply house.

Please don't tell me you are thinking of waxing that car already after is has just been painted

Well if the painter said you could, then you should be fine, but I would check with him on what you use. Then if there are any problems then you can blame him!
