so currently im sitting in my dorm at rocky trying to decide how im going to get my baby running back into normal condition. the car wont start first off, so im sending the darn thing to Dana Motors asap to get a new starter and whatever else she needs. next, the shift nob is semi loose, being that i have tried to tighten it but the spring loaded shifter seems to twist to the left the same as before: ie no change. and lastly i need a new hatch bc mine was semi beaten up by a recent noob accident with a motor bike. for the hatch i wana get a cf style one for shits and giggles but where to get it and how to change them... im confused. any help at all would be great.
thanks!

Moved.

Ok, so sounds like you have a few things going on. As far as the car not starting, if you are taking it to the shop they will take care of that, just post back up if you have questions. Is the shift knob loose, or is the shift assembly loose, or can you tell? Does it shift OK? If the steering wheel is not straight then you need an alignment - I woul recommend going to Staley's on Central - it should be about $50 or so.

In Billings as well if you need help.I think VIS makes a CF hatch. then you pull your hatch off and swap everything to the new one and put it back on. :)

The stock shift nob is loose. not the whole assembly... i do believe. i seem to have to turn the nob in the correct fashion in order to get a clean shift. i just called up Dana Motors to order everything and get everything installed because i just don't have time with classes and cross country. its way against my judgment but i need it done. that sounds like a plan for Staley's for the steering.

Dubber, i believe you pulled into Kmart lot one night to talk to me about this site sometime during the summer. I'm just a freshman at Rocky and following my dreams. Oh,and before i forget, sometime in the summer i might ask for help from you, Darkside, for that hatch replacement. i have never worked with glass-work before in my life.

Oh and i'm also working on a show-style sound system. 2 kenwood 12's in a ported box with amplified speakers all in the boot. if anyone has any ideas for a setup that will turn heads and sound crisp let me know. I'm just shooting for all kenwood though.

Yes Vis does make a CF hatch for the MK4, and to be honest, I am not very impressed with it. I looks good fromt he outside, but the inside is lacking a bit. I will have a car at my shop on Monday that has one on it, so I can take some pics if you want. You will also need a glass shop to remove and replace your rear window. They can be very difficult to do, and they explode if you break them. Oh, and they are spendy to replace. I can give you more info on it if you want..... Anyway, my .02!

So Aeron, why hasn't that guy with the CF hood/hatch gotten on here yet?? We need to plan a GTG soon and invite him! Is he a student?
