I don't know how many of you ran Black Otter, but it was about as much fun as you can have in a car in Montana. There is a new one scheduled near Dillon. It is on a scenic byway near Polaris. I haven't heard any specifics, but they are going up there this next week to lay out the exact course. It should be fast since they think they will have to neck it down to keep some of the cars from nearing 140. The dates are late so hopefully it doesn't get snowed out. It is scheduled for September 11 and 12th. The Sanctioning body is the Northwest Hillclimb Association. http://www.nhahillclimb.org/2010Schedule.html

Holy crap, that would be fun! I wonder if they have a "pre 1985, 1.8L 90 hp, slow rabbit" class?

I ran the 1.6 powered scirocco up Black Otter and it was still a blast. A Hillclimb is more a test of stupidity as it basically comes down to who has the guts to hold it to the floor the longest. There used to be plenty of underpowered cars in the slower classes to compete with. The best moment of the last one I was at was when I was standing at the top of the hill waiting for the rest of the cars in my run group to finish and a camaro driver came up and asked how my "cute little car" was doing for times. He walked away kinda sheepish when I was almost 2 seconds faster than his "race prepped" camaro.

why cant people just enjoy the sport they are in, they have to be arrogant a-holes like that. big ups to you for putting him at his place. i think i know the road the will race on, last summer we went dub hunting and went that route, and we were both like"this would be perfect for a hill climb" guess someone that "matters" thought the same thing.
