Is it posable to remove just the transmision from a mk2 vr6 swap. i have been trying to do so for the last couple of day and it seems it just wont clear the fram. does anyone know of some secret way to twist it out or something because i really dont want to have to remove the engine. please help

lower the engine a bit, twist the transmission, so the differential comes up, and remove.

I have never had any real luck removing the trans without the engine. I know it can be done though. The bentley says to pivot towards the firewall with the trans so the drive flanges will clear.

it is super ezey it is a lot ezer with 2 people but you can do it by your self you need to pull the trany out from the clutch plate and then turn the trans up and forward then tack the trans out it is that ezey if you need a hand just mesage me and i will come and help

just remove the whole pack, me and matt can have an engine/trans out of a mk2 in 25-30 minutes. mk2s are super easy as the whole front comes off. that way with everything out, you have much more access to everything and able to inspect everything more thoroughly!

thanks i will try the twist thing first and if that doesnt work ill pull everything. Im taking it out because 3rd went out. and where can i get the manual for the mk2 vr swap?

Off any mk3 with a vr6, or passat VR6
