this is one build i must finish.
the plan:
remove the B20E (na 2.0 FI) and affiliated running gear. remove B23FT and trans from the 760. Install B23FT/5spd (turbo 2.3 sohc 8v) into the 142.'
this is gonna have to be some mad scientist ish this time. but i already have everything i need to make one super sick 142.
pics:
were and how it was found:

the motor to be swapped:

im in both cars ie the 142 and the 760 $300.. the only thing holding me back is time, and grinder disks..
seariously thou this is a pretty damn straight forward swap. i might have to modd a frame rail for the snail a little but other then that its pretty much just gonna be some cut and snip of the 760 cross member and some cut and weld on the 142's cross member.. then cut/weld a trans mount and call it a day...
also the 760 runs and drives. not to mention its easy-as-pie early bosch fuel injection. seariously cant be any harder then digi2 on an aba. or digi1 on a low compression fox motor in a jetta with an eaton, i think i got this

well i've been workin on gettin this 142 into the garage.. been cleaning and organizing alot of scirocco stuff at piecing it all back together. (i plan to paint it this summer). so having it physically out of the garage will help free up some space so i can finish its doors and such. sucks its gonna have to sit out side but at least it will be covered and not it grass...
once the 142 is in the garage thou im gonna pull the motor and clean it out a little.. its been sitting for 8 years minimum so its got alot of dead bugs in it ha.. more this week.

So leave it that way? didn't you say you were looking for something for kid-hauling? That would be it my friend.

i would but the problem with the 760 is it has a messed electrical system. my fuel gauge, temp gauge, and brake lights are iffy and work only some times. In the 80's Volvo used bio-degradable wire insulation so after 25 years it degrades and you end up with a wire loom full of wires without insulation just sorta chillin rubbin together causing all sorts of electrical issues.. mine is no diffrent
