So this morning after church I got in my A6 and it had miss. I drove it about two blocks and it threw a P0302 code. Misfire in the #2 cylinder. I haven't dug into it yet I figured that I would wait until tomorrow. If anyone has any insight on what may be wrong please let me know. I hope its just a coil and not a dead cylinder. While I am going to spend some time under the hood I will also do a compression test. What compression is a 02 A6 2.7T supposed to have?

Start with the simple things, ignition coil and the plugs.
Moved to the A6 category.

I think you probably just need an ignition coil pack - the one that sits on the top of the cylinder. I think they are the same as what I am running in my A4, and they are like $30 for the newest revision D type. But who knows, maybe the power module will fix it up.

I had them checked and they all passed. So this is the next step.

So I got the coil power module in today and well what can I say. I can drive my car again! Man I was going insane because I was forced to drive my dads Grand Am. I so hate that car! But everything is back to normal now. I will post a pic of the part.

ya they have problems with them on all 2.7t models. im thinking about doing the upgrade from 034 which takes them out and gives each cylinder its own power module. its pretty pricey but think it would be well worth it......hows she running and what are your other plans?

It's running great now. Were do you get the upgraded coil packs. I didn't know they made a set with their own power module. As for my plans I am going to wait out the winter then it's a set of wheels and tires. I am going to go with 19's. after that I will drop the turbo's out and rebuild them or upgrade not sure which yet and a tune. I would like to get a new front bumper and the skirts need some paint. For now that is the plan but I am sure they will change.
