I'm looking to buy a ski/ snowboard rack or one of the roof boxes, need something to go on a mk4 gti.

Ya it did we replaced the coil pack and wires, i have had no problems with it since... Thanks for your help by the way!

I have a super cheap Thule Ascent 1600 for you. Here is the catch. My wife drove it through the parking garage in Missoula last winter, the top is cracked in three places and actually has some holes in it. I am not sure if you can replace the top cover, but if so, you would have a brand new box for cheap. If you are looking for cheap stoarge for winter stuff that is going to get wet anyway, then this is for you.Structurally, it is sound, it just doesn't look the greatest. I have both keys. You will need some sort of crossbar to mount it to. Retail on them new is like $450.00 I would like to get $75.00. I can post some pics if you need, or if you are in Missoula, you can come by and take a look at it.

And just as a reminder, if you live in Missoula, Thule boxes WILL NOT fit in the parking garage when attached to a Touareg!! Luckily the box fell upon it's own sword, and the Treg was not hurt! And I have something to tease my wife about for like............ever.

well you can bugg her about untill you doing somehting dumb lol..... an black duck tape can be a good project for her lol

Yeah, tape, but I think you could actually glue it back together with some good ABS glue. Not sure. You might even be able to find a new lid somewhere, and have yourself a new thule box!
