Hay does anyone know if an under dash pad from a 92 Cabriolet will fit an 83 GTI? Let me know. My GTI is an MK1 and I am pretty sure the 92 Cabriolet is a MK2. I ask because I need one and there is one on E-Bay that I could purchase. Thanks

The cabriolet is a Mk 1 also. I would think it would fit, unless the dash it is designed to fit under is different from the dash in your car. I don't know if the dash in the 92 is much different than yours.

there are two styles for them, look how it mounts in the GTI, and then make sure the donor mounts the same way. you may look into lightening it, they weigh a shit ton. it makes it much more roomy without it there. and doesnt look awkward without it. maybe the later dashes look funny all alone tho!

I think the later Cabbies are a bit different than the early rabbits. I think the dashes, while the look similar, are quite different, and the late model knee bar might not fit. Just my .02
