Boost Tube Size / FMIC

Need to get boost tubing and an FMIC for a 1.8T. Anyone have input on tube size? I think I am going with a cheap eBay kit with the intercooler. I don't want to spend a lot of cash and don't anticipate running huge boost. I will be running the stock K03 Sport. Thoughts? 2.25" 2.5"? Seems that bigger is not necessarily better.

2.5 is pretty regular, for instance, mine is 2.5, 2 would be sufficient tho!

eBay FMIC's work fine for stock tuning, just makes sure the one you get is bar and plate. Mine's a Boostbrothers kit sold by some guy who ended up getting banned on another Audi site, but I think they pop up on eBay too. It does pretty well up until outside temps get to 90F or so, then it starts to soak. I would think there's one out there for the 1.8T transverse setup.

yeah, my 40 dollar ebay intercooler, works fantastic! even on the really hot days, the inbound tube is sometimes VERY warm, but the outbound is always ice cold to the touch, intake air temps on a really hot day were as low as 48 degrees if i remember right!
