okay first official Mk1 build thread

dont be rushin me now, progress is commin along fairly fast so, bear with me if ye follow

1 old 1.6 lump outta the question, note: i dont recomend removing with only jackstands a floor jack and required tools1! :mrgreen:

got motor out of jetta today, and finished wiring up the fuse box, tomorrow after morning coffee, i will try to neatly rout all the wiring under the hood mount the computer and knock box and clean up the ole 16v will post more pics tomorrow

little progress well quite a bit actually, after an amazing get together today at RMR i was inspired by a certain mk4 jetta :mrgreen: so i went home to bust my ass on the rabbit

first pic is the donor car, we hav yur orgenz now yu ded :p

secondly as described yesterday the complete jetta harness neatly tucked in the rabbit or as neat as its gettin

third swapped trannys on the 16v motor and put er in!!!! next to clean and rout the wirez

Back seat and RR door panel still good in the Jetta? :unibrow: And who is going to clean up all that glass? Certainly not me young man!! And just wait untill yor father gets home!!! :p

Heck man, you are father than I am with mine right now, although I did finally source my 2.0L block, so now it is time to party..... :mrgreen:

maybe not farther, this for the most part is mock up then i will really get anal with cleaning wrapping things up nice n tidy stay tuned more pics to come tonight to include completed dash and intake and valve cover

well i did get the dash in the car looks pretty good for my first dash swap then the weather turned to shit so i left her earlier than i normally would. im having a little trouble with the speedo cable one its not long enough and routed through the farthest left hole it wont align with the speedo cluster so will have to figure something out, will try to get pics again tomorrow, if it doesnt snow :puke:

I remember having that probem also when we did the dash swap in my biddies 79. I will email him and ask him how he solved it.

cool thanks aaron hope its simple i dont want to drill any more holes :angry: if the rain stops ill take some pics for you guys the intake and valve cover turned out great for what it cost me to spiff em up will update tonight

HAHAHAHA, the background of the first pic looks like my apt used to!!! Jager and Uncle Jack were very good friends of mine......

Well, I also talked to my Buddy who had the dash swap and he said that he never got his speedo working correctly, but he also thinks that the speedo in the dash that we swapped in may not have been working or something. Sorry, I thought I could be more help......
