91 B3 SSAT' MINI BUILD!

so a couple weeks back, Trevah came through with a deal i couldnt pass up, on a 91 B3 passat, needed lots of little love, and was treated to some big love at the same time. most of the trashed interior bits were replaced with HUGE thanks to big Mike (thanks again!) with some leftover pieces of his b3 parts car. the stock 2.0 16v ran great with the exception of the ole blue smoke screen after it warmed up, so i parted my mk3 jetta, and vr6ed this bitch already, swap went too smooth. very happy with the results.

Still need the main dash trim pieces to complete the interior. and a rear sedan quarter glass, but i think i have one lined up.
I do have a working mk3 cruise control module if there is an interested party amongst you!

Future plans for the calypso are new exhaust, some lows, and 16x8 RML snowflakes :) more soon!

So, here is an issue i cant get my head around. the Jetta would get 320 miles to a 13 gallon tank, i.e. just under 25 MPG average. now the passat has a 18 gallon tank, and im going through it twice as fast it seems. when i should be 450 or so miles on a tank! I thought the guage read wrong, but it seems to be accurate at fill ups. i checked the codes, i do have
a p1500 code (fuel pump relay circuit) and the two common SAI codes, the solonoid is still hooked up but the rest is unplugged but still in place. So i checked the plugs, expecting them to be black, and found a grey, dry, starting to brown plug, looked to be a little lean, but they only have about 800 miles on them and were starting to get brown, so i think the burn is pretty damn good, the car has killer power, runs great. it just seems like 8 gallons of gas are going missing!

Anything to suggest?

BTW the new plugs are the NGK ones (recomended)

Wow that is weird. I would say MAF or O2s maybe but, with the plugs burning well that eliminates those. Seems like anything that would make it run rich would show on the plugs and yours aren't showing any signs of being rich, really odd. Keep us posted I am really curious.

Is it due to a heavier foot?

Is there a return fuel line that is returning somewhere it shouldn't?
