So. There is a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 in my garage. It is Amanda's dad's car. It was parked in 1987 with about 80k on it and hasn't been started since. It has the YA block(weak casting, low compression 180hp 325flbs of torque) It was running fine when it was parked, but something made a home under the hood over the years and snacked on the wires and hoses. The compression is all over the board. I think it may have stuck rings??? It is currently on day two of marvel mystery oil soak down, to see if that can break any thing free. The only rust is in the trunk(had a bad seal so water got in) and the battery tray area. I found a set of wheels of a 71 Nova SS for it(the wheels don't match and all the tires it has are different)The plan:
-Try to get the compression back
-Reseal the motor
-If it's associated with emissions it must die(so the stock carb has to go.)
-Rebuild suspension and brakes
-New body seals
-Clean up interior
-Stereo

let a bit of oil sit in the cylinders, most oil seals will probably start leaking when it does run, clean carb, drain gas oils, coolant, and replace, plugs wires etc.
