I finally have a new daily. A 1991 20vt Audi 200 Avant! For those that don't know, there are only about 150 of these imported only in '91 so they are somewhat uncommon these days. Inline 5 20vt, manual transmission, Quattro, diff lock...the good stuff :)

This is one of three in the Alpine white over the travertine interior. Other goodies-Intended Acceleration StgII chip (about 280hp), Samco hoses, upgraded Apikol all aluminum intercooler, Euro headlights, and some other stuff as well. Looking forward to cleaning it up a bit and having a new toy to play with!

I've been on the hunt for some time now for one in good enough shape to use as a daily. Found one, and traded my 5k for it :) It just happened to be in Portland!

i found a 5000 cs with a 5cyl turbo quattro motor in a junkyard today, guy said 200 for the whole engine. putting it out there so you guys know of it. is that a good price for one? thinking of it in terms of a project to practice rebuilding a motor to swap into something like a rabbit later?

That seems about right for a 10vt.

Where are you at? I have a parts car that's basically complete that needs to find a new home, then you would have it all...engine, tranny, wiring harness..etc. I'd let the whole thing go for 200. I'm just using it for the interior.

Back to the 20vt! I need to remove my cluster to resolder all the connections because my Auto Check is acting up (knew that when I picked it up :) ) so I went ahead and ordered new SMD red LEDs to throw in there while it's out. Should make quite the difference. Also ordered a new Fuba antennae. It's OEM from a Honda S2000, I know, I know, but it looks good and is still a moderate length, threads right on. Plus the stereo reception remains unchanged, at least that was the case in my 5K.

I'll be slowly picking away at this running project so more will be on the way soon...with pictures!

Loved my 200, one of my favorite audis I have owned. If you feel the need for more speed I have a big garret turbo with literally 0 miles on it after a fresh rebuild I would let go of. I have a few misc 200 parts so if you end up needing anything I might have one laying around. Great looking wagon, but traded for a 5k that's wild!

Thanks for the offer! A big turbo sounds enticing, but there's brakes and suspension that need to be taken care of before more speed is introduced. Following a S4 through Jackson Creek made me realize how bad the brakes actually are, ahaha! But there will be more power adders eventually no doubt. Having a platform that adapts to mods is a huge plus...no more CIS!
