1992 GTI R32 VR6 project...

Gents, I acquired an R32 VR6 motor this weekend. Now I need something to swap it into for a project. Thanks to Wade for helping me pick this up!

I'd rather not swap it into either of my Caddy's, and I've been thinking of a couple of ideas, but wanted to see what is out there for everyone else's ideas. I'd really like to have a hatch of some sort, MKII and up...GTI, Golf etc. There's no transmission either, and it needs alternator, flywheel/clutch etc. as well, so it'll need some donor engine accessory parts too.

What do you guys have out there for possible donors? Anything newer out there with a blown up motor?

Parts needed:

[*]VR6 MKIII engine mounts, rear and right side - NEED
[*]24v ECU/engine management - NEED
[*]VR6 exhaust - NEED
[*]Corrado G60 or B3 Passat Speedo Cable (mechanical cable) - NEED (maybe)
[*]Passenger side mirror - NEED
[*]Exterior passengers side trim, just in front of door on fender - NEED
[*]Glove box - NEED
[*]Ebrake light module in dash - NEED
[*]Corrado G60 or B3 Passat Speedo Cable (mechanical cable) - NEED (maybe)

If there's something I need to add or change, please chime in.
  1. Cosmetics:
  2. Interior mirror trip cap - FOUND
  3. Driver side door card, handle and window crank - FOUND
  4. Front H4 headlights, broken drivers side - FIXED
  5. Passengers side fog light - FIXED
  6. Hood release cable - FIXED
  7. Ebrake handle/assembly - FIXED

    Motor:
  8. VR6 MKIII Subframe - FOUND
  9. VR6 downpipe/header w/ O2's if possible - FOUND

    Transmission:
  10. VR6 transmission - 02A or 02J, cable clutch - FOUND
  11. VR6 Shift box and cables for VR6 trans - FOUND

Axles: (wanting to keep 4 lug)
  12. For 02A trans - two options, 90mm or 100mm axles. - FOUND

    Steering:
  13. PS lines?

nice score! I vote mk2 golf/mk3 golf. a bit much for mk1. Christian has a ginster vr6, you could sell the 12v and the trans would bolt up, hed probably cut you a deal and you could drive it home.

Ohhh, I think this idea may be a really good one. Pretty much turnkey as well.

That's a MKIII correct? I'll txt him

Put it back into an R32

But seriously I think a B3 Passat wagon would be a perfect donor.

Hahaha you find one and I'm putting it in!

B3 would be a good one too. Who has one with a bad VR6 motor and five lug/manual?

B3/B4 wagen!!!!! DO IT!!!!!!! Don't know if the BDF is the same accessories, but I have the ECU and bits if theyre compatible. Make you a smoking deal on a spare 24v motor. :unibrow:
