80 pickup

I got this delivered to me from Wyoming yesterday. 1.5d 5 speed with minimal rust. I was told that 12 years ago it had jumped time and bent valves. I didn't really care, I have an extra diesel head. However, after fiddling with the timing and turning it over, it really didn't sound like it had bent valves. So, a can of diesel later and it fired right up! Runs really good for having sat in a field for so long.

I've got a lift gauge for those motors if ya need to use it for your timing :)

I got really lucky on this deal. This just goes to show that you can't always believe the previous owners. I do have access to all the timing tools, so I'll get it dialed in here eventually.

Is that even an interface motor? I didn't think they were.

All diesels were. Flat heads, high compression

It drives! And its sipping fuel from the tank now too. Initially it was running on a gas can in the engine bay. now onto brakes and an oil change.

I'm going to drive this thing everywhere! I can't believe how easy it was to put this truck back into service.
