Yellow is Not Fitting for Nogaro

Post by JayRyan »

So I have more yellow lights on my dash than I can stand. Here's a question for you:

No front parking/turn signals. Bulbs have been changed and the fuses checked and it still won't work.

I hate Audis. :P

elaborate a bit for us...do the rear blink, can you hear the relay clicking, is it a fast click, what setting is the switch in (On, parking, off), do you have a euroswitch or NA type? If any of the bulbs (front or rear) are the wrong voltage/wattage the system will not work or not work correctly. So are you positive they all match the OEM bulbs? BTW you can't just get OE bulbs from Checker or Napa, you need to go to Dana or order them from GAP or ECS.

You have yellow bulbs on your dashboard?

I just recently "modded" my car so that mine dont stay on, I just disconnected one of the filaments. But if you've changed your bulbs already then that wouldnt be the case...
Could you give us a little more info per Mike's request :)

Ah! Thanks Mike. My good friends at APS in Denver were right: the Passat is a VASTLY superior car  Any bulbs will work  I'll order the bulbs from ECS and see if those work.

Still, it IS easier to get in and around the inside of my car when putting things in/ripping things out.

And my dummy (warning) lights are yellow...well, orangish-yellow.

Ha yeah I have a B3 Passat and I will attest to the bulb issue - which is why I started asking for more information. I refuse to buy my bulbs at Wal-Mart because they are just not the *same* OEM style. Of course I give all the credit to Aeron - when I was troubleshooting my car he was a big help

Those bulbs from ECS will work. FWIW you won't be able to change th color of your interior dash lights without some serious "solder and replace modding", because those are all LED's. Let's do a co-op DIY - I can solder... :smirk: At least enough to mod an Xbox :ninja:

Yeah, my buddy and I laugh all the time. I used to drive a B5 for a long, hacked and modded to all hell :unibrow: We go back and forth for fun.

I'm not changing any lights in my dash.
