When the Z4 goes in on lease end next March, I want to have a biturbo 6speed Audi ready to purchase. I have e-mailed the dealer in Bozeman, but no response. There seems to be very few quality cars for sale in this region, would I need to be looking at getting one shipped or buying in Colorado or somewhere out there?

If you had asked this question about a year ago, I would have one for you, but it has been sold. I work a lot with a local used dealer here, and they may be able to help you out, depending on what you are looking for, but it is also in Missoula. If you are interested, call Mark Madieros at All American Auto at 406-721-4391 and tell him Aeron at Warrior Auto Works told you to call. They do a ton of used VW/Audis, and only deal with the best used cars out there. He can pull cars from just about anywhere. Well that is all.

I bought mine from a member at Audizine.com; there's NWquattro.com, Audiworld.com and then the usual online dealers.
I had a great experience and was pretty specific about what I was looking for. It took me about two months of shopping, but worth it
And I know most of the Colorado guys in person, and they're quality.

They are not easy to find. There are a number of them around, but none for sale. I see owners around that NW selling them on Audiworld sometimes. Do you want an unmodified one? What are your goals for the car? You need to be willing to travel to find the one you want in most cases. What milage are you looking for?
And you better start your turbo fund now, it's only a matter of time.

Thanks guys, yeah I'll most likely be looking for the unobtanium. Lower miles (<80k), 6spd, unmodified would be preferred but a subtly modded one owned by an adult would work. I also would love to have one with the sport package since both the wife and I love twisty roads and I'd rather not spend over a grand on springs, shocks, and bars to make it handle well.
I'm willing to wait though, like I said it'll be replacing the Z4 so no rush here.

On the corner of 19th and... whatever the street south of the audi dealership is. It silver and a private seller, but honestly I wouldn't consider this one since it never seemed to me that the owner took care of it.
I would go with Jays suggestion and look on either audiworld, audizine, or possibly the vortex. The people on there from my experience generally take better care of their cars. Especially with those engines you'll want to make sure it has been taken care of. Good luck.

The good news is you don't need a sport package to make it handle, the bad news is they all handle like an S, which means understear if you really push it, but on twisty roads you won't get to the limit anyway. The difference between the packages is just options and trim. All will perform the same.

Good to know, now I don't have to be too picky. So was the only difference in the suspension lower springs?

There is a 2000 S4 in the Mini Nickel this week. There's also a A6 2.7T, but I would guess its an auto.

The only difference between the "sport package" and a non-sport package is chrome/brushed aluminum mirrors, aluminum trim, and alcantara seats. Suspension and everything else is exactly the same.
