Run on 2.5 mile road course in Lewistown with the Porsches

The Absaroka Region Porsche club has given an open invitation to the Yellowstone SCCA to help invite as many people as possible to attend the two day event in Lewistown on the 24th&25th of May. The event starts out with everyone who has not run there before starting out running with instructors to receive some pointers on running the course. After the instructors give the nod you will be allowed to run solo and can be put into faster run groups as the weekend continues. It is a great time with a good group of guys.

Copied from my post in the lapping days thread:

Keep in mind that this is MUCH more demanding on the car than autocross. You NEED fresh and uprated brake fluid and pads, your car will get hot, so if you have any cooling issues you will wreck something. You must have 'equal' seating/restraints for driver and passenger. This means don't have a fixed race seat with harness for the driver and a wore out OEM seat with a lap belt for the passenger.

There are other things to consider, but if you want more info, IM me.

I have not heard if anything changes this year or not, but last year it was something around $35 for one day, $50 for both. The tech inspection started around 8:00 and there was a drivers meeting at 9:30 or 10:00 on Saturday. You will need a Snell certified helmet. Your car must pass a basic safety inspection. (good tires, seat belts, shake test on wheels, pedal test on brakes, no major leaks, battery secured, basic SCCA inpection if you normaly autocross) The man in charge is Dave Cooley 406.727.9451 mtcarrera@rennlist.net The Porsche newsletter last year said to wear a long sleeve shirt, but nobody paid attention to that last year. That's all I know other than that it is about the best time you can have on four wheels in Montana.

Yes, wear a long sleave shirt and long pants.
M2000 or newer helmet needed.
