Golf Trouble, need you .02!!!

okay having some trouble, kinda baffled. just got a golf II and i cant get it to run right, its a 1.8 with digifant. it has been fouling plugs, so i replaced the dizzy cap & rotor a previous problem was the ignition control module, also new plugs. put all that in and it ran beautifully, it hadnt ran in a while so i let it sit in the parkin lot to idle for a few, went back out and it was dead, and wouldnt stay running, it would start then die right away, everytime, im thinkin maybe the fuel filter is packed up, any other ideas here??? i also replaced the coolant temp sensor....
