Hey guys -
When i first got my revo it was giving me nearly 20 PSI of boost. Now it seems down - I am sure the Revo is fine, but what on my car is losing boost!!
i took two videos of me accelerating and showing what type of boost i was getting - i tried two different springs in my DV
the yellow one for 10-25 PSI
and then the blue for 30+
but its still losing a lot of boost - is this normal??
here are the videos

PM sent. Your turbo will always reach a point of inefficiency and start to loose boost, it does not create maximun boost at the the redline. This is especially evident in smaller turbos, which is why people put huge turbos on cars, so that they are reaching redline before they reach turbo inefficiency.
I think you are suffering from speed addiction, as I remember you were happy as a clam when I tuned it, so you must have gotten used to the speed, and now you want more......I've seen it a hundred times, it happens to the best of us!

Thank you both for your replies - i think i asked the question wrong last night...
when i first got the chip the car was holding at around 19 -18 psi, now as you can see it drops down to 15 or 10 10 was stock by the way.
I am pretty sure the revo is fine, but what would be causing me to have gone down in boost like that?
I am sure you are partially right aeron, but i am just looking at numbers =) i probably will have to go get revo two someday soon !!
You may have a boost leak somwhere that is not present when you are at idle or just revving it in the driveway. It might be a boost line with a hairline crack in it that seals up most of the time, and then when you really pour on the boost, it will open up and start to bleed off boost. You might try loggin the boost levels with a VAG-COM, and compare them to the boost gauge. I know that is sortof primitive, but the log should tell you requested and actual boost and then you can see if that correlates to what the gauge is showing.

That sounds awesome- so i will hook the vag com up and it will tell me what the ecu is asking for as far as boost goes, and what its actually getting - which would tell me if its a problem with the turbo or a boost leak or something nearing that
There is a measuring block on the Vag-com (althogh I can't remember where it is right now) that will show you requested boost and actual boost, if those numbers jive or are very close, then you know that your leak is down stream of the turbo. Start visually inspecting as many of the boost lines as you can, and you might also want to check all of you intercooler piping and connections.

So - I was thinking about this issue i have been having with my car....
The car is able to hold 20 lbs of boost in 3-4-5 gear
but in first and second it does not get close??
This leads me to believe that its not a boost leak - since it has no problem holding boost in the other gears -
but instead is the Revo software?
What is the revo supposed to hold as far as boost in first and second gear??
Still love the chip - just trying to get the most out of my 500 dollars =)

Yes, it is performing correctly. Your first two gears are shorter, so maybe you are not getting th turbo spooled up all the way? I am not sure what the car is "supposed" to boost to, that is dependant on many things, only one of them being the software.
