Ok, so another 16v puzzle. After 3 minutes or so the Passat engine shuts down. Both fuel pumps the fuel distributor and the filter have been replaced, and I'm thinking it's a fuel related problem. May a FPR or something...because it will start back up 10+ seconds later. Maybe a ground?
Have any of you guys heard of or had this problem, and any knowledge on how to fix it?

Funny thing you mention that because I inherited it from my step dad because it was giving him hell, then the t belt stripped, and he was done with it. It's nickname is "Newman" like the character from Seinfeld. "Newman..."Rennwagen1 wrote:I think this car is going to kill you.
But, yes as soon as I get the head on it I am going to stick the For Sale Sign on it, but I need to get it as good as I can or my conscience will haunt me. I have pictures in my head of the new owner being stranded in a blizzard or something...
Any ideas?

Here is a big hint. DO NOT sell it to someone you know if you are worried about it. Sell it and get it out of your hair. Make them sign a document that states "AS IS NO WARRANTY" and you are free and clear. This sounds cold-hearted(I heart mike) but that is life. Any time anyone buys a used car they assume that they are buying a used car. Once it leaves your driveway, you are done. End of story.
