vr water pump

Post by mk2jetta »

so the water pump on the raddo is leaking ever so slightly. i know what it takes to remove and install one, already did the research on that one. my question is which one of these do you guys think would benefit me in the long run, i don't want to do this again anytime soon.

that's what i was thinking, but i didn't know if the metal impeller would be god or not. i guess if it came apart for some reason, the metal one would/ could tear some stuff up. thanks again.

Nope. you want the metal one. The plastic ones break very often. Which is the reason the metal one was built to replace the faulty plastic impeller.
Also, its like a 30 minute job max. Remove front and rear engine mount bolts, remove airbox, belt, jack up engine, and unbolt waterpump.

Yeah, when I redid my pump, the rebuild actually had a metal impeller. And it was a rebuilt OEM pump also, so score!
