WTB: B6 (02-05) Audi A4 Avant 1.8t MT
Hey guys, I'm now seriously looking for an B6 (2002-2005) A4 wagon, 5 or 6 speed with the 1.8t and black interior...USP (ultra sport) or s-line would be perfect. That combo is a hard one to find but I know they are out there. And I would prefer to buy from another enthusiast if possible. If anyone knows of anyone selling one, or if anybody has contacts they would share it would be appreciated. Please let me know - thanks!

Thinking of replacing the Jetta or the (gasp) windstar? I don't know of any for sale around here, but Karl Tyler Chevrolet just took and A8L in on trade if that peaks your interest......I also have some local guys at dealerships that can do locations on cars like you are looking for. If you want, I can get you some numbers....

I think I have what I want narrowed down, and anything other than the A4 would put me in a motor that's really too big for what I need or want, plus I want to go FI, but I don't want the 2.7TT cause I don't want to replace turbos every few years or else I would pick up an Allroad.
I forgot to mention in my first post that Quattro is a must. I may consider a tip, but I need to drive a couple of autos to see if I could handle only two pedals.

I'm having a hard time finding what I am looking for online, plus I am watching for a super deal cause I don't want to finance. So yes, I would appreciate you looking out for something, and numbers are always good if you have connections.

Yeah, and no offence, but the Windstar has been and will always be one of the wortst vehciles Ford has put out. Right on par with the Pinto. Actually I have stopeed puting remote starters in windstars altogether, as they usually have nothing but problems.

Re: WTB: B6 (02-05) Audi A4 Avant 1.8t MT
Ok update guys. I found a couple - 4 to be exact. I've narrowed it down to a couple of choices, but I need some thoughts on the purchase. I've asked on AZ, but gotten mixed answers...so, you A4 guys...advice please??
There is 1 manual, but it has 120K on it. Is it better to go higher mileage to get a manual or stick with tip?
How is the tip, and I assume it has a sport mode. Can anyone tell me how it performs and how you even put it in sport mode?
Are there any differences in the tip with the buttons on the wheel vs. not on the wheel? Is that a different package?
TIA guys.

I have heard to stick with the manual. The tip trannys can be costly 2200 to rebuild and 3600 for a reman
That alone might sway my decision.

Wow if that happened I would just do a 6sp swap. FWIU the tip is decent and the sport mode locks the TC so if performs "sportier".Darkside wrote:I have heard to stick with the manual. The tip trannys can be costly 2200 to rebuild and 3600 for a remanThat alone might sway my decision.

I'm a fan of manual, but I drove my parents Legacy GT with tip and I was impressed. Sport mode was really nice. Finding a manual is super hard - I found one so far and it's got 120K and it's got some cosmetic flaws from highway driving. I found a tip with 100K that has the 90K service done and a new Ko3 turbo that I think is the winner.
