Thats all "home-port" work, matt did all that with guidance from our machinist. they reamed out very quickly, thats actually the head going in his weber carbs mid engine rabbit, but mine will look the same. i should have it back in about a week, then i can bolt it together for good! now its only mock-up so i can finish wiring.Roadhog wrote:omg those ports are huge O_O

Re: okay new rabbit new build thread.......
Did anyone put that head on a flow bench? Just curious how much the flow was improved.

Re: okay new rabbit new build thread.......
no it hasnt been flowed yet, there really isnt a whole lot of material removed, the stock fuel injector guide had sharp edges and those were smoothed and basically just cleaned up the castings. the 16v heads have large intakes all the time even stock form too.

Re: okay new rabbit new build thread.......
WELL, sorry for no pics, i might just have to leave all of you in the dark until it rolls up at YNP
na, i wouldnt do that, small update here. the engine is in, well the bottom end. The SDS wiring is ran (hidden) little odds and ends on the way to finish it up, but granted i get my damn cylinder head back from the machinist this week, i may hear it run this weekend.
list left to do:
install front calipers, bleed brakes
install walbro 255lph fuel pump and fuel lines
install battery in spare tire well,
install top end, turbo, wastegate, downpipe.
mount intercooler boost pipes and HKS SSQV
align SDS crank trigger sensor.
install new drive flange seals and axles
install 630cc injectors, fuel rail, and FPR
install radiator and plumbing. install thermostat.
buy custom length spark plug wires/trim and intall.
drill/weld oil return into oil pan and install
install oil feed and flow restrictor
plumb vacuum hoses oil pressure guage/tach
install fuses and it should fire.
car should run ok on base map, ill have to input different RPM fuel values for the 630's its programmed for 440's now and would be rich to the hilt. then ill tune it the best i can without boost, then install the IC pipes and tune it to .47 bar about 6 psi, (stock wastegate spring) it should take about 1 degree of retard for each psi, or a good start to tune it further from. look for pics and maybe a VID soon
