OK here are some more dumb questions heading your way, but you guys are used to it by now right?
So I'm looking to lower the wagon approx 1.5" or lower. I have been doing some research about kits. I know coilover kits are ride ajustable but they are also more expensive. So I was thinking a cup kit. Iwas looking on ECS and I came up with this one, H&R Cup Suspension Kit

The two questions I have are, besides the kits what else would I need to get. I know I need front and rear sway bars, but to me it looks like the kit comes with the shocks and springs. That should be all that I need. My last question I have is have any of you heard good or bad things about the cup kits. I think this is the cheapest way to go. I wanted to just get sport springs, but I know that I'd have to get sport struts and sport springs anyways. So why not get a cup kit right?

Good call Stoney, but for the money Matt get these for $625:

There are the ST...a brand of KW Automotive North America and these are just like the V1 but with a galvanized steel body instead of the stainless steel body. They also have a lifetime warranty where the Vmaxx only are 2 year. With as much as you drive you will probably need to use the warranty at some point.

Personally I owuld go with a cup kit over a set of "cheaper" coilovers. But that is just my opinion. If you decides to go with the cup kit, DON"T ORDER IT YET!! I am working on becoming a dealer for ECS....

I haven't ever had a customer complain about the ride of H&R cup kits. You seem worried about winter clearance, so I would stick to the 1.5 1.4. That is my .02

I suppose if you want adjustability and the ability to go loooowwww in the summer and high in the winter, coilovers are the way to go. I have heard good things (on the intarnet FWIW) about the ST's and the Vmaxx are nice too. But if you can get the H&R cup kit, that would look killer on your car and you would have a nice reliable set of shocks and struts that perform and handle well (as well as helping us get to the $1500 mark :) ).

You will be lower, but I don't know why it's necessary to get a new sway bar - maybe a decent set of adjustable end links would be in order (again ECS). You are running OEM wheels so I don't think you will rub - I don't rub and I'm lowered at least 1.5" on 18's ET35.

Don't got with those cheap CO kits. The Cup Kit is solid. If you want to save even more money, and you have some life left in your shocks, you can get just a set of H&R springs. Although, I'd recommend doing both :thumbsup:
1.5" is perfect. Especially up here when you get lots of snow on the road. I had almost 2" on my Passat and felt pretty low.

If you enjoy a comfy ride, leave it stock. You are welcome to ride in my Corrado which has Koni Yellow shocks and Neuspeed race springs... It re-defines stiff...

I would however go with a set of Koni Coil overs though. I have heard great things about them as far as build quality and ride quality are.

I have had a H&R cup kit in my Jetta for about 6 years now, and I love it. The ride is firm, but not harsh, and it handles like a dream. And although I don't drive it in the winter anymore, there is still "decent" ground clearance...
