Worked on getting my peeling soft touch off. I just need to get to the areas I can't reach. That stuff sucks. Anyone have any ideas on how to get into the cracks and crevises and removing it without wrecking the interior, and also anyone have an adhesive remover they like. I have some but it doesn't work that well for that material.

A green scotch brite pad and some hot soapy water will remove it, but you really should pull the parts you are removing it from. I used a fine grit sandpaper too and that smoothed some of it out, but eventually I just removed it. Those plastics will come off Matt, you just need to go easy on them and do it when it's warm out. FWIW I have removed every interior plastic when I did the beige -> black swap and no part ever broke. Just go easy on them and don't use any metal screwdrivers or anything sharp.

Thanks, I was thinking about removing the pieces. I'll do it when I have more time. I just need to see how they come out. It will be good for removing it now and when I do my interior swap(s) someday.

So it was time to change the oil in the Jetta. Got it up on the lift and started to remove the plastic skid plate. I had the back and the sides released and was working on the last two screws in the front. The car was about chest level, so I was squatting in front with the skid plate hanging in front of me. I heard a rustling noise and saw something move on one of the sides. Figured it was just a piece of plastic garbage blowing in the wind. Kept working on the front screws. Heard more rustling and saw some movement on the other side. So I figured I'd peek around and grab what I thought was the plastic blowing in the wind. Right about then a rabbit decided it was going to jump down, practically in my lap, and SCARE THE CRAP OUTTA ME!!

I don't think it had been in there long. There are rabbits running around all the time.

New Step for Changing the oil: 1. Check for any live animals in the engine compartment!

Thanks for the info it's a good thing it did not die in there. Rabbits can hide anywhere. I have a good story about a dead rabbit and a TT convertable if you want to hear it some time.
