brandon you are right. im having problems with the boost tube poppin off the bottom of the charger   (dont worry im on it)

after driving it around a little tonight here is my overall conclusion to this build:

eatons rule
digi1 rules
first gear is useless
second pulls hard and is over fast
third pulls hard and is my new favorite gear
forth is fun, good for getting up to speed on the on ramp
this is the cheapest build i've ever pulled off
why didnt i do this earlier?
i have plenty enough boosts
by far the fasted dub i've had/built

seriously thou this thing really does run really good. its quick, but still very manageable to drive. if i keep my foot out of the throttle it drives just like it did before the charger swap, yet if i need power i just gotta step into the throttle a little and its there.

ill try and have some vids/pics up tomorrow or somethin

How long do you think the engine will handle it?

bwahahahaha thank you spence..

after thinking about your question i did a little investigating. this is an 87 gli, this SHOULD have the RD 1.8 8v w/10:1 comp. BUT after double checking and triple checking it DOSNT have the RD in it!! what!? instead it has a GX 1.8 8v in her (found in the FOX). witch just oh so happens to work out well because the GX motor only runs 8.5:1 compression!! also the odo/speedo was replaced in this jetta. the speedo is a MotoMeter gauge and the tach is a VDO gauge.. And as to what i remember every fox i have looked at personally has had MotoMeter gauges.

so in theory, if the odo came from the parts fox that donated its heart to my jetta in a previous owners hands, then this GX motor in my jetta only has 51K on it.

so to answer your question i think this should hold up for a long time. as long as im not crazy with it.
