Alignment

Alright Missoula...who do you guys trust to do a front end alignment around here?
I hope that is all I need. Drove to Seattle this weekend and noticed that in 5th under acceleration I would get a fair ammount of steering wheel shake. I just rotated my tires and never had this problem. So I'm thinking...or hoping that it is one of the less expensive options...ie. wheel balance or alignment.

Why would it occur under acceleration in 5th and not at any other time? (at least not as noticable in other gears)
1-3 is fine can't tell
4th...a little bit
5th...oh yeah..there it is.

I use Jeff Enderson, or his dad Lyle Enderson at the Broadway Les Schwab exclusively. I have been using them for years, and they do all my alignments. You might have a bit of trouble getting ahold of Jeff this week, as he is getting married on Saturday, but give them a call at 721-1770 You can thell them Aeron at Warrior Auto Works told you to call if you want. On the upside, an alignment and balance is going to be the cheapest and easiest way to see if that is the problem, and hopefuly fix it. If that is not the problem, they should be able to tell you what it is, or might be....

Aeron for the hook up! Probably wheel balance, along with tire wear from before you rotated. Are your tires directional (meaning they only are supposed to roll in one direction) or not?

Thanks for the info Aeron. I'll give 'em a try. Hopefully that will fix the weeble wobbles.
Tires are non-directional...

I've got to crawl under there and do an oil change...so I'll have to look for obvious crap while I'm there.

Driver side front wheel = WAAAAAAAAAAY out of balance. Still had the weights on, so whoever balanced it originally did a job. I think the last owner found out when rotating, and instead of shelling out $10 bucks (not a les schwab tire), just left it on the rear so it would be less noticable...hence 1 out of 4 tires being pretty much worn out from not being properly rotated.

You know what? People like that also use that tire sealant shit also when they get flats. That junk definitly makes it seem like everything is out of place.......that shit sucks.
