brother in law needs help

hey there fellow dubbers my brother in law needs help he has a 91 jetta that he was driven and it just puttered out.it is not getting any spark and the coil is good any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.thanks all

Check the ground on the coil.

Check the wires @ the distributor cap for green corrosion and check the connection to the hall sender on the distributor. You can also check for fault codes, you'll need to remove the cover on the drivers side of the rain tray to see if it is Digi I or Digi II Then follow instructions here:

check the grounds on the back of the cylinder head where the valve cover bolts on, if those were dirty/bad, he might have fried his ignition control module however im trying to think if those had ICM's :laughing: probably loose ground, 95% guarantee. check the ones on the battery too, also check the ground from the battery that goes to the body, and then to the tranny mount! good luck. i would be willing to bet that 10 minutes with trevor and myself it would be runnin :laughing:

i have ben playing with it for a few days now and it is not a ground they are all good but i no nothing of dige font it seames there is a short some were that is not leting the coil come on cant find it yet
i can't spell but if you stare at it long enuff it looks like a hiden vr6
