WTB: Raintray Roof Rack Mounts

Post by Ramrod »

I'm looking for roof rack mounts for the bus. With or without bars. I'm trying to find an old set of the universal raintray clamps that allow you to mount a flat steel/wood bar to them. Looking to avoid a new Thule/Yakima system. I'm not looking for a fancy VW roof rack, just a set of bars I can strap a canoe on. Anybody have something like this?

TIA

Yes. I have two sets, both thule and yakima, one is round bars, one it square bars. I am pretty sure that they would work, they were on my BMW 2002 raintrays. Who is your best friend now?

Fair enough. Next time you are heading through, LMK, and we can dig them out of the crawlspace and you can take them with you, and see if they will work out. I am not sure if the bars will be long enough on wither one of them, but you can figure that one out for yourself. I bet the mounts will work, though......

Thanks. I'll should be in missoula in a few weeks to check our Aeron's. Thanks for the offer. If I knew it was going to be this easy, I would have asked a long time ago.

See? You just have to know who to ask! I was going to ask you if you wanted to take them with you on the way back from the lake, but I figured if it was really important, you would have called me.
