I think I would have just drilled a hole in the trunk, let it drain, and then welded it up when you are done.....seems easier thank the MacGyverism ya go there. And you already had the welder out.....

Body work is getting close(at least what i can do without buying parts). I want to pull the entire suspension and drive train and leave the shell on jacks with a cover on it while i work on the rest over the winter. If next weekend is nice(meaning not snowing/raining), anyone want to lend a hand??? I'll provide beer   and some pizza

Pulled all the suspension and what not this weekend. So surprised at how easy it was. Pulled the entire front end out in about 4 hours total. MK2

I need to get some front wheel bearings and rear suspension bushings pressed out. Does anyone know who in town would do it the cheapest? Or does any one have a press?

Found a dual outlet exhaust mani and down pipe(the downpipe will eliminate the need for a cat too). Should net 5hp over the single. Haven't done to much to the jetta, working to much. I think I put in 10 hours over the past month. Happy because I'm working a bunch but definitely feeling the lack of VW time. I'm looking forward to any down time. The under side is almost completely disassembled, then comes fixing any rust and freshening up the undercoating.
