Airbag on 01 Jetta RANDOMLY deployed??? *UPDATE*

One of the sensors would have to be triggered. I believe the side sensor in in the lower kick panel. It sounds to me like maybe a bad connection in the wiring.

Maybe you should simply tell the insurance company that it was a huge pothole anyways!

That's exactly what I said. Probly gonna do that since I know the dealer will end up finding a spot where SOMETHING had to have hit it. After talking with her, I think that is what really happened. I keep picturing 2 girls blasting music smoking cigarettes and jamming out of their heads hauling ass down the road...

So we took the car to Dana Motors Monday and they said that due to the aftermarket springs and continued abuse over gravel roads... It wasn't random. It was just one final bump that probably did it. She took the car to a place for an estimate and they said $6,620 for repairs. 5 airbags total I guess and the sub frame is damaged. Gotta wait and see what the insurance company says.

You cant drive Jettas on gravel with aftermarket springs or the airbags will go off??????

That is a load of complete bull and the dealer is hiding behind it. I have had lowered springs on my Jetta since 1998, and I have never deployed an airbag.....bullshit.
