Really Poor Gas Mileage

yeh, i agree w the wind theory. i did bozeman to sheridan (thru billings) last fall in the 2.0. did about 10 trips and gas mileage went from 25-35. all from differences in wind. and some days i couldn't really feel the wind in the car or pedal and my mileage was loooooow.. my rack could use a fairing for sure

i can agree on the wind my lil kia had the same problem when i would go frm great falls to dickinson. an thats pretty flat so i am a hill in the middle of a desert it seems like if you have lots of stuff up here that kills you in the end. when i took the wagon with out anthing on to i got better then when i i had some thing on top on the rack. but who knows it wuoldnt hurt to check all the other stuff an finish up on the tune up.

Yup...pre cat heated sensor. Luckily it's not too badly overpriced and can be found at oreilly auto parts - OE version even.

My, newer VR (97) with over 180k returned 29.5 MPG on a trip to helena and back recently, and that was with a faulty throttle body.
