The VR is something you will eventually NEED to work on, I would not recommend this as your only car but it can be a daily. It is very reliable and has never even hiccuped. The CEL works, and is never on. VagCom scans clean. EGR and SAI have been removed but could be reinstalled. However it does need chains and is slowly leaking coolant and uses a little oil. It is still running on the stock 1.8l exhaust. Windshield is also broken. With the Borbets I'd like to see $2500 or $2200 without. (I would rather keep em')

I dont need the wheels and it wouldnt be my daily. How much to fix the problems you estimate?

If you tried to take it to a mechanic somewhere, about $5700. If you or a friend did it, all the parts were about $500. Without the wheels I'd take $2000 at this point. I would not hesitate to drive it every day.

Trade you the subaru for it. Needs to get a tranny, think it only has another year on it. the rest of the car is in good shape. little body work.
