in all its unfortunate-ness, i would love to see some carnage shots! i would stick with the tall block, has a better rod ratio for torque, and you can still get burly parts for it!

well it was just one rod, all the other holes are from the intermediate shaft braking, so the head is OK... just two lightly bent intake valves on number 2 cylinder the one that broke the rod, they still open and close fine just don't quite seal all the way, no signs of detonation, turbo looks great nothing passed through it, so....short block and two valves and all will be fine, I don't think the block was the forged crank so I will make sure I get a 93 to 95 ABA block, found a low mile 94 ABA for $350 plus $40 for 16v intermediate shaft, scat rods good to 650hp and some Wössner ABF 8.0:1 turbo pistons will run about $950 for both, but they come with rings, pins, bearings and ARP rod bolts, few gaskets and miscellaneous and should be good to go, or through the block in stock keep the boost in check and save up to get Wössner rods as well, there about $750 for the set, but all can be installed with the motor in the car in a weekend, and I can get back on the road faster, tough decisions! any input?

also want to see what digsmk3 finds local too, best local I found was $600 for ABA blocks, or the $300 9A, which would work well too, I really don't have a torque problem with the supercharger so ABA isn't really necessary, hell even a PL 1.8 would kick it! and rev nicer too! dam more indecision :banghead:

Was probably the IM shaft that went first, and took the rest with it. I've heard of those being a weak point.

Also, a lot of people seem to like these rods. They are nicely priced too.
