Sure, but that is a full blown track car. I am sure it has other mods to correct the suspension geometry from dropping it. Just lowering a VW makes it handle poorly.

I have actually been pretty lucky with mine when I installed the coilovers, I mean, its anyones opinion, but if you buy the right stuff, set it up right you should get a pretty decent ride out of it. I will admit that I did rub alot until I cut and smoothed under the fenders. My tires could be better, but overall I am happy with the ride quality

I run a MK1 GTI, and have done fairly well with it, but I have reached somewhat of a stopping point. The car will go no faster as it sits. You can only go so fast with 90 hp(in 1984!)DOn't get me wrong, it is still al hoot to drive, I am just a bit burned out on it. I think a MK2 would be fun.

anytime you modify a car you have to do it properly, if you want it to work correctly. But yes it is a track car, he top time of day that day too I believe. Along these lines of correct suspension angles look at the B&G coilovers they are threaded at the base as well and that allows you to roll low and still get your suspension angles closer to correct.

Thanks for the info! And believe me, I know what its like to do something properly and correctly. My car in fact currently has a 1.8t swap in it, but the car has not ran for almost 4 years! Thats because I took my time and didnt cut corners. Unfortunally its also a money pit...besides that, here is a pic of what is currently on the car:

unfortunately doing things right does tend to take more $$$. I know mine eats money I remember your build thread...cool project. you should be able to make that a 16v auto x er on the cheap

So here is the FYI...talked to the guy who has my car right now, and we decided that we are gonna do a built 2.0l ABA bottom end with a built 8v cyl head. We will still use the 02a tranny, and create a roll cage for it. I am so stoked!!

If you are going to daily drive that car, you won't want a cage in it. Unless you are going to pad all the bars and wear a helmet all the time. And you will also need a stronger seat, as well as 4 point harnesses to keep you in place. If you get hit in that car or get in an accident in that car with no helmet on, that cage will KILL you. Also climbing over a cage every time you get in and out gets old real fast.
