air valve
Hey,I have a 1990 gli 16v and was wondering what was the best way to go about eliminating the idle air stabalizer valve? I have a rough idle once the car is warm. I have tried cleaning the valve with carb cleaner but it did not make a differance. The car actually idles better with the wires disconected from the valve . So I was thinking of just pulling it and plugging the holes, then adjusting idle at the throttle body. Besides I would like to get rid of anything I can do without cluddering up the engine bay.

Re: air valve
would it matter what engine management your running? all the air coming through the valve is already meetered so it seems that it wouldnt change anything if it was going through the air valve or the throttlebody.

Re: air valve
As long as the engine management is ok otherwise, tie the wires off to the side some where plug the hole that it went into, adjust idle with the Idle air bypass. You'll most likely have to give it a little gas for a little bit during cold starts but that is about it. These were the instructions I found on the Vortex.
