M&Ms in your heater plenum? lol.

My climatronic works similarly. Do you have an ECON button? It shuts off the AC compressor even if the ambient (outside) temps are higher than cabin temps, otherwise, the AC will turn on when it needs to cool the cabin down and you will get cold air if you set your cabin temp lower than the temp outside.

I run mine with the ECON button on almost all the time unless I want to run the AC compressor. I never have the recirc button on unless it's really hot outside and the AC is running. Do you have driver and passengers side controls?

Funny you should say that Mike. The guy who owned this car before me had a serious chocolate addiction- six months later I am still finding M&Ms and Hershey Kisses in very odd places, i.e. the compartment where the disc changer sat, inside every cabin trim piece I remove, etc. I don't know if he was smuggling 'em or what. As far as having ECON- yes, I also have an AUTO but no separate side controls. Maybe i should run Econ all the time except when I've got A/C on? I don't have a climatronic manual so this is helpful.

Ha that's funny, and a strange addiction. And yup if you run econ all the time the AC will not turn on. Nothing in your owners manual about the climatronic?

Yeah, no doubt. Um... No owners manual, heh. I should probably try to find one. I'm confused about one thing- the cabin circulation button. Shouldn't that close the cabin off from outside air, or what? I'm talking about the 'curved arrow' buton. When it's on, cold air blows through.

Well, it all depends on the conditions - if you have your cabin temp set higher than outside temps, regardless if the recirc is is on or not (and econ as well) it should blow hot air. If you have the recirc on, and are getting cold air no matter what, then you have a bad servo or a stuck flap or something. That's where you need VCDS to tell you quickly whats up.

And yes, the recirc button closes off outside air pulls air from the cabin instead.

Dan, I don't remember seeing anything with the HVAC the last time we scanned the car. If you don't gegt it sorted while I am gone we can scan it when I get back and check. Although Mike may sort you out in the meantie, he is pretty much uberninjagenious when it comes to odd stuff like this. I am also glad to see you finally posting up!

Too bad you guys aren't a little closer or we could add some Chinese food to the beer in my garage. I literally have a Chinese place three blocks from my house, and it's the best place to eat in town IMO.
