driver side is way worse... im doing full pans both sides.. my big concern is ( i havent seen the new pans in person yet) is how to align the seat rails and the seat support so its all fung shway. luckily, around the seat rails its not rusted. so i will be faced with the decision to cut around seat rails and cut the floor pans around that, or cut the rails off and weld them into the new pans. :banghead: hopin to set a world time record on stripping the underside of the car too, when on the rotisserie.

Ah just cut around them if they are not rusted - and cut out as little as you need to cut, and you will also save the heat stress on the metal when welding the pan back in. Are you doing a butt weld or are you going to have some overlap and seam seal?

POR it all up inside and out and it will never rust again - I used a small quart to cover the entire cab floor of my truck, plus I had quite a bit left over to use on the bus. I'm sure I don't need to say it, but make sure to get the prep chemicals too...marine clean and metal ready, because they will promote the best adhesion and convert any existing rust. You can get all that stuff down at NCS on Central too, no need to order it in and pay shipping.

i would use the new pans for patches. it will be much faster and ten times easier, get some little magnets, make good templates and butt em in around the circumference, then grind them down and por them. esp if the seat rails are legit.

I wish i could just patch.. the driver side is swiss cheese it needs to be all fresh, figure after "testing" the first pan on that side the second might as well get all new metal too.

cali, oregon, montana( garaged since 2005 ) ... i seriously think it was from spilt big gulps. under the front windshield and rear hatch glass seals there was a tiny bit. other than that super clean shell. not a patch of rust anywhere. I need to take pics of the the other side. the rust definitly out gangstered me on that side :crybaby:
