I I hve seen just over 30 mpg in the Jetta, but you gotta baby her! I am sure Beth won't be Mrs. leadfoot anyway....I'll keep my ears open...

Thats the early 2.5's. The late 2.5s and the 2.2s are okay.
Good to know. One was a 98 2.5 and the other was an 04. The old subies ran forever :)

theres a 95 jetta here in the zoo for sale dunno what the price is or the miles. but its a 5 speed and its black and most likely a 2.0

my 3 cents.
mk3 with working cruise controls can be tough to find somtimes. the modules are usually the problem.
if its a 5 spd, test drive the tranny. any weird noises in 1st 2nd and reverse could end up painful. 5th sometimes can go bad too. (mine has a wobble)
94-95 are the years to find. they are just built out of better parts all around. although i did notice that the later 2.0 motors seem quieter.
