Re: The 66
Wiring is done(minus engine stuff) everything is working. The radio I wired in is not working popularly. Did serious cleaning on engine. Soda blasted the heads and case. The case is going to need more aggressive blasting. Also painted some stuff. Porting of heads starts this week.

I love how it's on your counter top. I rebuilt a transmission in my living room one winter.

Re: The 66
you gunna do some of the porting tricks "how to hot rod vw engines" is doing? if you know anybody with a valve grinder to a 3 angle job and the valve itself. i did that and actualy felt an improvement, and a nice 3 angle valve job on the seats and some unshrouding of the valves should help it out a lot. stop vw chanmbers suck haha and with the bigger cam it should bring in more air so you should overcome the compression loss from unshrouding the valves. you gunna use a stock carb?

Re: The 66
I have two exhaust ports ported, might have the heads fully ported by monday. I'm going to rock the stock carb. Even though it had intake leaks it was running hella rich. I'll see how it runs when it is all back together, I might have to rejet it. I want to get the flywheel lightened and balanced. The tires showed up today along with more parts. I just spent 4 hours getting the hood seal in(30min) and getting the hood latch to work properly. It works great now but FNA. Old cars can be a bitch.

More stuff done. Tires mounted, engine compartment done, rear clip reattached, deck lid stand offs, rear wiring, tar boards, dome light, caster shims, and some more painted parts.

Re: The 66
Reassembled the bumper today and reinstalled. I had to clearance the bumper so that the deck lid could open. The back is a little squished in. It works now though.
