Sweet, I'll take whatever you have. You see what I have to work with, basically no front end. The PO has a front grill, but I still have to get it from him. I'd like to do small front bumper and a duckbill for some flair. The OE grill and turns, and the side markers. All that should make it look more complete.

I'd love to get the side vent windows in the front too, those were found on the LX models. A sliding rear window would be cool too.

I think I'm going to stick with the squares, it's fairly rare from what I am finding out, mainly because it's a 1980 and a first year model.

Anyone know of any in the scrapyards?

Randy, is your caddy a parter or a runner?

Swing windows will leak, but I might have some lying around...

And all my grille sytuff would be for roundies. And smooth front lower pans with duck bills are the duck's nutz.
I should have a an extra Mk1 GTI front valence if your is too far gone.

I am fixing my caddy, but I have an 80 Rabbit for parts. I am going to change mine to rounds. I have a few other Rabbits and Sciroccos as parts cars so I have quite a few extra parts. I think I have a set of the side vent windows, if not we can swap with one of the Rabbits I am going to sell.

The OE turns are in the bumper on the 80.

Randy are you out at your shop today? If you don't mind I may swing by after I get off work at 4 to see about parts and shoot the sh*t with you.

Give me a call when you get off work. I will be out there for a while, but I am still at the school at the moment.

where have i been! this is awesome. i support all mk1 activity! go rounds FTW! a core support can be had for 150 or so new, looks straight other than that core support. for an 80, you wouldnt need new fenders just the core/headlights/grill.!
in for progress!

Shhhh, you don't really need a new core support, either. NINJA!

Unless your is shot. But we have done roundie conversions without welding around here.

These wheels I have are 13", I think they are 7" wide. They have 215/60/13 on right now, but they are rotted out. Replacements are nowhere to be found in that size, so what would look decent? It's not going to be slammed, but I will someday flip the axle and go with coils on the front.

Until then, do I go with 175/70/13? A better size? Different wheel?
