Re: 1980 Caddy project - updated
Just what I need to get it rolling. Yeah, shit I should have scoured for parts but I didn't know if I was even going to get it from the guy.
Agreed, 5 lugs don't really go on an MK1.

yeah no 5 lug...unless you do a VR swap. Those speedlines would look good

Maybe a VR, I have an extra in my garage, but needs rebuilt. I gotta get it (the 1.8 JH) running first, it hasn't seen pavement in over 10 years.

Re: 1980 Caddy project - updated
FYI, the injectors are probably plugged solid or enough to fail at running, my first rabbit sat for 6 years would not run, cleaned them injectors on over ten attempts, tried all the tricks with 0 luck. replaced the injectors, whammo ran like a top for years till the door hinges rusted off

VR would be the toughest swap, as all motor mounts must be fabricated, then welded in place, then there is the custom length axles, and enough weight to offset the awesome handling of a rabbit (enough to be upset about) other than that the swap is cake. ABA i believe is the best stock swap for a rabbit, even over the 16v! unless its 16VT

A little pricey, but it's bolt in action.
