Boogles' MK3 Build

Post by BooglesMcGee »

I have my build thread on jettajunkie.com, but I thought I would put it up here as well. I have a MK3 Jetta that is slowly getting there. No mods to the engine yet, but I do have a custom magnaflow exhaust. Other work I have done so far include custom red lit interior, backlit instrument cluster with DDi gauges, black leather shift and ebrake boots with red stitching, all red tails, rear euro plate tub, debadged trunk with black vw emblem, and some aftermarket hood struts. Bought some ESM 009 wheels (replicas of Borbet type A's) with some Yokohama S drives from a guy on JJ.com, should have them in a few weeks, and those will be going on this spring. My list of things to come include, but are not limited to:

smoked E-codes
smoked turns, fogs, and dummies
new seats reupholstered in black tweed with red stitching ?
fix or remove the vacuum pump for the door locks
get my rub strips installed
coils
power windows for the rear doors with switch in the dash ?
exhaust headers
full tune-up
wrap pillars in fake leather or paint them black ?
get my badgeless grill made and put on
new mirror caps (can't find any anywhere)
remove dents
remove pinstripe
wire up rear fogs or put tail lights in the rear fog position
replace headliner (thinking about using the same black tweed as the seats I may get done) ?
replace cabin air filter
redo door cards (same material I'm thinking about for the pillars)

Things with a ? are ones that I'm not sure if I want to do or not. Anyway, on to some pics:

got my new wheels today, but UPS lost the bolts to mount the center caps on. Trying to find the specs on them so I can pick some up at the hardware store.

Got my new fogs, turns, and dummies in the mail today. Now just have to wait for it to warm up to put them in.

Unfortunately no. Hopefully one day, though. The turns and dummies are Depo, which I have had good luck with in the past, and the fogs are TYC, which I have no experience with. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Thanks, they'll look even better on my car :D Wish I could afford some smoked ecodes to go with them, but with my new wheels and upcoming coilovers, I think I'll just get another set of stock housings and joey mod them, for now.
