There is a mk2 golf 20vt in great falls, she used to be on our site, but not for a while.

I had a feeling when I was driving the mk4 donor that I was off a tooth. Motor ran fine but I was getting like low 20's for MPGs and the torque curve felt strange. Sure enough..... cams were behind a tooth. :banghead: Should make it run much more better :) New water pump and timing belt installed with new tensioner and pulley. The belt had been done (wrong) already, but I was not sure what was actually changed so I got my self some 20v insurance by just changing it all again and getting it properly timed.

Made a little more progress this weekend.

Shifter installed and heat shield put back into place.

Lightweight flywheel with VR6 clutch installed. Gearbox attached too.

Got the heatshield for tunnel back in and modified to clearence the 2nd O2 sensor. MK4 downpipe fits the MK2 pretty well.

Axles are back in and I rolled her out in the driveway for some sun just before the rain and snow (got the hood on just in time).

man thats nice, awesome motor in a awesome car. i like projects but just cant get used to the down time of the vehicle. if u ever sell it let me know!!!!!!!!!
